General responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Plan and deliver daily effective, differentiated instruction Demonstrate knowledge of resources, student needs, curriculum (AppleTree), content, and pedagogy Set instructional outcomes Administer student assessments Create an environment of respect and rapport Establish a culture of learning Manage classroom procedures and student behavior Communicate directions, expectations, procedures, and content with students Engage students in learning with quality questioning and discussion techniques Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness Use student data to inform instruction and integrate differentiated instruction Engage parents and families in their child's academic success by fostering an ongoing relationship centered around hopes and dreams. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.s Participate in the Center City PCS learning community via PLC's, campus/district professional development, and weekly campus-based grade-level planning sessions Reflect on teaching by accepting ongoing informal feedback and implementing changes based on that feedback Following school-wide procedures for attire, behavior, and punctuality (teacher hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) Attend and participate in occasional school events outside of regular school hours Qualifications Has a bachelor's degree in an applicable subject area, as appropriate Passing Praxis scores Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferred Demonstrates ability to use data to assess student learning, with evidence of growth References that reflect a high standing with past employers Able to lift to 10 pounds and able to stand for long hours Must be able to show proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 Benefits The employer subsidizes medical, Dental, and Vision insurance premiums 401 (k) Retirement Plan with employer match Pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts Life and Disability Insurance Paid sick and personal time off This description is intended to describe the type of work being performed by a person assigned to this position.
