Environmental Asst. SuperintendentThe successful candidate will lead and direct the Environmental Team in all aspects of the environmental compliance requirements at the Valdosta Kraft Paper Mill. This is inclusive of managing the daily activities including:Provide oversight of evaluation, interpretation, and compliance with environmental laws, regulations and permits as it relates to the operation of the Valdosta Mill Assist the Leadership Group with the development of short and long-term environmental objectives, targets and strategiesBuild strong, professional relationships with Local, State and Federal RegulatorsStay abreast of upcoming environmental regulationsImplement compliance programs for new environmental regulationsPrepare applications/renewals for varied permit reissuance or modification Develop and implement required employee awareness training Manage mill water treatment program Develop talent in the Environmental Department by increasing knowledge, skills, and abilities of direct reportsFacilitate and represent the facility during agency inspections and public meetingsWork with local managers, corporate personnel, and outside vendors to find effective solutionsBe an advocate for PCA in the local communityParticipate in the Weekend Duty rotationBasic Qualifications: BS in physical or environmental science, chemistry, engineering or equivalent work experience 2-5 plus years of industrial experiencePreferred Knowledge-Skills-Abilities Must be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers Must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills Must be capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem-solving Must be capable of working with ambiguity and changeMust display a professional attitudeMust be able to communicate effectively with State and Federal RegulatorsPayTypeSalaryHiringMinRate86400HiringMaxRate120000
