Job Details: Purpose Design, develop, test, document, and maintain production and R&D software used in data collection, signal processing, mapping, and navigation for the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) at Applied Research Laboratories (ARL). Responsibilities Design and develop software applications. Maintain and test new and legacy code. Create supporting documentation for software and systems Participate in data collection exercises, data management, and analysis. Potential travel to domestic offsite test events, 2-4 times per year. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or other related field. Demonstrated ability to define and document complex software applications using object oriented data structures. Applicant must have a demonstrated ability to follow coding standards and testing standards Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks, and managing their time. This position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving, sound engineering judgment, and good communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients. Experience with unit testing, version control, and documenting development of software. Demonstrated knowledge in some of the following: C#, Python, JavaScript, C/C++, Java, web application development, Git, cloud computing (AWS or Azure). Graphic design and/or UX design experience. Prior work experience in professional or research-oriented software development. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with at least a 3.2 in relevant coursework.
