Job Title: Supply Chain Operations Specialist Location: Flint, MI Job Category: Materials Planning & Scheduling Salary: $55,000 per year (based on experience) Schedule: Floater: Monday–Saturday, 6:00am–2:30pm (normal). Must cover 2nd Shift: 1:30pm–10:00pm and 3rd Shift: 9:30pm–6:00am (2 Saturdays on 1 off with occasional Sunday). Position Summary The Supply Chain Operations Specialist is responsible for specialized operational functions within SCS logistics operations, including advanced troubleshooting, decision‑making to prevent errors, specialized reporting, and system support. The role may provide direct supervision, assist with new hire training, and interact with carriers or customers. Responsibilities Communicate daily/shift goals of facility and work group(s). Report plans to achieve operational goals. Train and review employee understanding of policies, procedures, and processes. Make decisions for location activities such as demand planning, supplier calls, customer interactions, and process troubleshooting. Support the development of system and process training. Perform operational administrative functions to support location activities or customers. Identify and solve operational issues using continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives. May serve as a floater across multiple shifts. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. One (1) year or more in logistics, warehouse, or related field. One (1) year or more previous supervisory experience preferred. Intermediate proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Intermediate proficiency in Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Intermediate proficiency in OSHA requirements. DOT and Hazmat knowledge (based on account) preferred. Skills & Abilities Effective verbal and written communication with employees, peers, and management. Strong organizational, follow‑up, and computer skills. Self‑directed work with minimal supervision. Ability to manage individual performance and employee relations. Judgment when information is incomplete or ambiguous.
