Job Description
An Optician plays a vital role in helping customers select and fit eyewear that meets their vision and style needs. Working within a small optician team, this position involves using digital fitting and dispensing technology to provide precise lens dispensing, frame selection, and eyeglass adjustments. The Optician also supports doctors by interpreting prescriptions, educating patients, and maintaining accurate records, all while delivering excellent customer service in a retail setting.
Responsibilities
- Dispense lenses accurately based on prescriptions
- Assist customers with frame selection and fitting
- Adjust eyeglasses for comfort and proper fit
- Consult with patients on eyewear options and care
- Interpret prescriptions to ensure correct eyewear solutions
- Educate patients on proper use and maintenance of eyewear
- Maintain records of customer information and transactions
- Support sales efforts and provide excellent customer service
- Collaborate with doctors to meet patient vision needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced optician preferred, Willing to train entry-level
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication abilities
- Patient education skills
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally
