RN Emergency

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care. The nurse must be able to manage multiple patients with a ratio of 1:4 and demonstrate strong clinical judgment and communication skills. At least one year of experience is required, with certifications including ACLS, BCLS, NIH, and PALS. The position requires flexibility to work weekends and major holidays as needed. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide emergency nursing care in accordance with hospital protocols and standards.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort during emergency interventions.
• Utilize Epic electronic medical record system for charting and communication.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities.
• Adhere to infection control and safety policies.
• Cover weekend shifts every other week or more as needed to meet unit demands.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year ER nursing experience; first-time nurses considered.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Strong clinical assessment and emergency care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.

• Experience in community hospital emergency department settings.
• Familiarity with acute care hospital workflows and protocols.
• Ability to accommodate block scheduling as per management discretion.

• Shift start time at 3 PM; confirm shift times before acceptance.
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs.
• Must be open to working three out of five major holidays.
• No call or float requirements.
• Radius for travel is 50 miles; verify facility location prior to acceptance.
• Free parking provided.

• Evening shift starting at 3 PM.
• Weekend shifts scheduled every other weekend or more frequently as needed.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion.
• Guaranteed hours with possible call-offs limited to once every two-week pay period.
