Job Summary:The Health Information Systems Manager is responsible for the oversight, optimization, and strategic use of Journey Mental Health Center’s electronic health record (EHR) system and related clinical applications. This role serves as the primary liaison between the organization and IT service providers, ensuring system reliability, data integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective user support.Duties/Responsibilities:EHR & Systems ManagementAdminister, maintain, and optimize the EHR system, including configuration, updates, and enhancementsMonitor system performance and ensure reliability, availability, and efficiencyPartner with clinical and administrative teams to identify and implement opportunities to improve EHR functionality and clinical workflowsCoordinate system upgrades, patches, and downtime proceduresData Management & ReportingOversee EHR data collection, validation, and reporting capabilitiesEnsure timely, accurate reporting for contracts, grants, and organizational decision-makingAnalyze data to identify trends, performance indicators, and opportunities for improvementReview and validate reports, dashboards, and data outputs for accuracy and completenessIT Vendor & Systems CoordinationServe as the primary point of contact for IT vendors and service providersManage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level expectationsCoordinate issue resolution, system support, and infrastructure needs with external partnersUser Support & TrainingOversee training and ongoing support for clinical and administrative staffPromote best practices in EHR usage and data entryCollaborate with teams to improve system adoption and efficiencyCompliance & SecurityEnsure compliance with HIPAA and applicable federal and state regulationsMaintain data integrity, confidentiality, and system security standardsSupport audits and regulatory reporting requirementsLeadership & AdministrationHire, train, supervise, and evaluate department staffParticipate in organizational meetings, committees, and strategic initiativesManage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environmentESSENTIALEducationBachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related fieldExperienceMinimum 5 year of experience configuring and supporting electronic health record systemsMinimum 5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and performance measurementMinimum of two (2) years of supervisory experienceStrong knowledge of data models, database design, and data analysis techniquesExperience with reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects), databases (SQL) and data processing frameworks (ETL)Proficiency in tools such as Excel, SPSS, SAS, or similar statistical softwareFamiliarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., SQL, XML, JavaScript)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to collect, organize, analyze, present, and train on complex dataExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsExperience with Streamline/SmartCare EHR or similar EHRExperience in behavioral health or health care settingsProject management experiencePhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform light liftingAbility to operate standard office equipment, including computers and phonesOccasional driving may be requiredWorking ConditionsOn-site or hybrid work environmentAbility to be on-site within 60 minutesOccasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on organizational needsTop of FormBottom of FormHiring Requirement:All potential candidates will need to successfully pass the Background Information Disclosure (BID) for entity employees and contractors.
