Sr. Database AdministratorGDIT is looking for Sr. Database Administrator to join our National Institutes of Health (NIH) CIT Hosting and Storage Services Program. This is a HYBRID role - 3 days on customer site in Bethesda MD.Responsibilities:Performs tuning, optimization, and advanced maintenanceHandles patching, backups, and complex troubleshootingMaintains DB documentation and recordsCollaborating with product owners to develop new or modify existing scripts to automate database services, such as configuration of new database instances, patching, and upgradesTroubleshooting issues that impact services and actively responding to alerts and performance trendsResponding to service requests, such as complicated product deployment efforts that require coordination to modify data and database hosting configurationsJoining sprint or ad hoc meetings to discuss requirements for products and brainstorm new technical solutionsAttending a daily stand-up meeting to report your accomplishments, plans for the day, and any roadblocks you encounteredRequired Qualifications:BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience6+ years in advanced database administrationExperience with tuning, recovery, and optimizationSkilled in documenting schemas and patch cyclesMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public TrustPreferred Qualifications:Experience with a variety of technologies to develop, maintain, and deploy infrastructure services, such as continuous deployment and continuous integration services, code repositories, and security vulnerability identification and protection.NIH experience strongly preferredGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:Growth: AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunitiesSupport: An internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goalsRewards: Full benefits, wellness programs, 401K matching, competitive salary, and paid time off.Community: Award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplace
