Essential Functions

• Operate laundry equipment (washing machine, dryer, etc.).
• Organize, sort and fold laundry.
• Mark and tag laundry.
• Identify worn and stained laundry, reporting items to Housekeeping Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager.
• Keep inventory of linens, reporting any shortages to Housekeeping Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager.
• Perform light mending of laundry.
• Maintain a clean workspace and assist in cleaning of common areas.
• Complete daily paperwork (e.g. Maid Sheets).
• Ensure that cleaning equipment and materials are maintained; reporting any items needing repair to Housekeeping Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager.
• Respond to owners, guests and others regarding housekeeping issues.

Requirements

Education, Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required; less than one-year related experience and/or training; or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

• Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk, hear, use hands, reach, climb, stoop and kneel. The employee will seldom be required to talk and taste and/or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. The employee must be able to work at a fast pace for extended periods of time in a high-pressure environment.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet, hot, or humid conditions, chemicals or solutions, fumes or airborne particles and loud noise conditions. The employee will seldom be exposed to high or precarious places.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the resort. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
