LJ’s Handyman Services is looking for an experienced, dependable Lead Handyman Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently, and is comfortable taking the lead on residential repair and improvement projects.

The Lead Technician will be responsible for completing and overseeing a variety of handyman projects, communicating professionally with customers, helping direct other team members when assigned, and making sure jobs are completed efficiently and correctly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and complete residential handyman and repair projects from start to finish
• Perform drywall repair, painting, carpentry, flooring, door and trim installation, minor plumbing, minor electrical, and general home repairs
• Review job scopes and determine the best approach to completing the work
• Direct and work alongside technicians or helpers when assigned to a job
• Keep projects on schedule and within the estimated labor hours
• Identify additional repairs or issues and communicate them to management before performing work outside the approved scope
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and other customers
• Take clear before-and-after photos and properly document completed work
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
• Properly care for company vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Provide accurate updates on job progress, materials needed, and any unexpected issues
• Perform final quality checks before considering a job complete
• Help reduce callbacks by ensuring work is completed correctly the first time

The ideal candidate has broad residential repair experience and is comfortable making decisions in the field without requiring constant supervision. We are looking for someone who understands that being a Lead Technician means being responsible for quality, productivity, customer service, and the performance of the job—not simply completing assigned tasks.

Candidates should have:

• Strong experience in residential repairs, remodeling, maintenance, or handyman work
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to complete jobs independently
• Ability to lead and work effectively with another technician or helper
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Good customer communication skills
• Ability to estimate the time and materials needed for common repairs
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely use common power tools, ladders, and job-site equipment
