Manufacturing Engineer I

Position Summary Under direct supervision, the Manufacturing Engineer I is an entry-level role that assists with designing, implementing, and reviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment. The position supports the manufacture and assembly of new and existing Parker products typically in a single facility. The role assists in developing improved manufacturing techniques, testing new systems and methods for efficiency, and planning assembly layouts to optimize production, quality, cost, and safety. Responsibilities Assist in the planning and design of manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture and assembly of new and existing products. Help determine equipment and tooling needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications. Assist in developing and implementing process improvement projects that focus on manufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost. Provide input to senior engineers regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Help ensure basic processes and procedures comply with regulations and apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Investigate and make recommendations for corrective action to ensure product quality and resolve quality issues. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Education / Technical Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a related Engineering field with 0‑2 years of experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering. Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving of basic to moderate scope and complexity. Effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (pull systems, process mapping, JIT). Knowledge of data structure and database programming. Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems or other computer‑aided manufacturing systems in addition to standard business application software and/or specialized data analysis tools. Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications. Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to research and analyze data effectively and draw valid conclusions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Well‑organized, detail‑oriented, and ability to multi‑task. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers.
