As a Registered Nurse in Surgery Services, you will collaborate closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and surgical staff to support patients before, during, and after surgical procedures using sterile techniques and specialized equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care encompassing medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and provide accurate updates to the healthcare team.
• Maintain precise documentation of all patient care activities and quality monitoring to support compliance with core quality measures.
• Effectively communicate relevant patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes.
• Engage patients and families with timely communication that fosters understanding and supports health outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while promoting teamwork and accountability within the care team.
• Adapt positively to the dynamic healthcare environment, supporting organizational mission and values.

Education:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience:

At least one year of acute care nursing experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license valid in a Compact State or the state of employment.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Mental and Physical Demands:

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals, may occur. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
