Ambulatory RN | Clinic Registered Nurse

Join a dedicated healthcare team in a regional medical clinic serving the Midwest community. This role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering comprehensive patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections.
• Administer medications via multiple routes including oral, IM, SC, topical, and IV.
• Assist providers with procedures and examinations within scope of practice.
• Perform phone triage and act as liaison between patients and providers.
• Communicate test results and provide patient education effectively.
• Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in medical records.
• Manage medication and supply inventories to ensure clinic readiness.
• Maintain venous access devices and administer IV push medications as ordered.
• Escort patients, obtain vital signs, and facilitate patient portal enrollment and education.
• Conduct point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as required.
• Provide training and support to nursing and medical assistant staff.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program is required.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

Current RN license in a Compact state or the state of Missouri is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is frequent, with occasional encounters with hostile individuals.
