ACTIVITY THERAPIST

Recreation Aide Regal Height's Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is looking for a talented and hard-working Recreation Aide to join our ever-growing rehabilitation team. Job Overview The Recreation Therapist will implement a variety of group activities and programs based on Resident’s individual abilities and preference to encourage and promote Resident participation. Successful candidate must be compassionate, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic with the desire to enhance the quality of life of residents. The role requires good interpersonal skills and assists alongside the recreation therapist in the Department. Job entails transporting residents to and from programs, running some programs, 1:1 visits and attending trips, assisting with transport to and from off unit programs and other activities related to recreation therapy. Qualifications Energetic, extremely enthusiastic, creative, takes initiative, works well with a team, enjoys working with elderly people. Preferably 1+ years experience working with a geriatric/adult population. Must be a team player with a compassionate, outgoing, and pleasant personality. Must be computer literate and possess strong organizational skills. Duties and Responsibilities Complies with and interprets the philosophy, objectives, procedures, policies and code of ethics of the facility and the policies of the Recreational Therapy Department. Documents Resident attendance/participation daily. Maintains care and use of program equipment and materials. Conducts therapeutic activities on and off unit as scheduled. Attends Resident trips outside of the facility as per assignment. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
