Maintenance Projects Coordinator

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is hiring a Maintenance Projects Coordinator (Work Program Coordinator) in Kapolei. This position provides technical and administrative assistance in planning, developing and coordinating maintenance and repair services programs for City facilities, structures, grounds, and equipment.

What You Will Do:

• Prepare Plans & Specifications – Develop work programs and construction project documents.
• Conduct Field Inspections – Evaluate maintenance requests and estimate project costs.
• Monitor Project Progress – Ensure timelines, budgets, and labor projections are met.

Special Working Conditions:

• May be required to work on weekends, evening hours and holidays.
• Serves as a Disaster Response worker during declared emergencies.

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD), Support Services Bureau, is hiring a Maintenance Projects Coordinator (Work Program Coordinator) in Honolulu. This position manages the facilities for HPD Headquarters at Alapai, as well as all other police facilities.

What You Will Do:

• Prioritize & Manage Repairs – Review, budget, and process maintenance and renovation requests.
• Coordinate Projects – Work with the Department of Facility Maintenance and private contractors.
• Review Technical Documents – Interpret blueprints and contracts.
• Oversee Building Systems – Monitor repairs involving security, cabling, mechanical, and electrical systems.

• May be required to work on weekends, evening hours and holidays.

Salary for the Honolulu Police Department: $5,369 - $6,283 per month (SR-22). Actual salary will be commensurate with applicable experience, pending approval.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment. Education Requirement: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in business administration, public administration, civil or structural engineering, or a related field.

Substitution: Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided.

Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional financial or program analysis, estimating or purchasing experience, one of which shall have involved building construction and maintenance activities.

License Requirement: Possession of a valid appropriate driver's license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment.
