Duties Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims using billing software and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Ensure proper coding of services using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards Verify patient insurance information, health coverage details, and process medical collections efficiently Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to facilitate timely reimbursement from insurance providers and patients Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation to support billing accuracy and compliance Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing details and resolve discrepancies promptly Stay updated on healthcare claims management regulations, medical terminology, and insurance policies to ensure adherence to industry standards Qualifications Experience required in medical billing within a home health or healthcare setting, with familiarity in medical office procedures Proficient in Work, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
