Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

Overview BluePearl Pet Hospital in Arden Hills, MN is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you are a liaison between internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone, email, and in-person conversations. You will assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take x-rays, and obtain lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required. Responsibilities Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). Calculate all medical math including advanced calculations for CRIs (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.). Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia. Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures. Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedures. Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injections, SQ fluid administration, and feeding tube demonstrations. Additional job duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician with experience in internal medicine settings. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required. Why BluePearl Our passion is pets.
