Registered Nurse PICU

PICU RN Opportunity

The PICU RN will provide specialized critical care nursing for pediatric patients in a Level I Trauma Center. The role involves managing complex medical conditions and supporting patients from birth to 18 years old, ensuring safe and effective care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert bedside nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU setting.
• Monitor patient status continuously, responding promptly to changes in condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies including ECMO and CRRT as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Document patient progress accurately using electronic health records.
• Educate families on patient care needs and post-discharge procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience with pediatric patients.
• Maintain current BLS and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ventilatory support, ECMO, and CRRT.
• Willing to work 3×12 night shifts, including holidays and up to five weekend shifts every four weeks.
• Able to float within scope of practice between ICU and Stepdown units as required.
