Overview Reports to: Childrens Services Program Manager. Location: 1603 Court Street, Syracuse, NY 13208. Schedule: Full and Part Time Schedules Available. Pay Rate: $19.00 - $21.50 Hourly. Our focus is supporting individuals by ways of residential housing, mental health and clinical services, and immersing our participants in community engagement. Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings. About The Role We are looking for a proactive employee to provide person-centered services and support children and their families who are enrolled in Childrens HCBS and OPWDD services, in order to achieve increased independence, and to maintain their health and safety. Responsibilities Supporting and assisting child with activities of daily living (ADL) Implementing behavioral support plans and guidelines Offering choices and opportunities for the child to engage within the community Monitoring and maintaining the safety of the child while in the home, community, and during transportation Education & Experience High school diploma/GED required. Experience working with children with DD/ABI or a mental health diagnosis preferred. Experience working with children with behavioral needs preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required. Basic word processing and e-mail skills, required. Conditions of Employment Must possess a valid drivers license and transportation necessary to meet program needs. Must be able to demonstrate direct care duties including personal assistance.
