Company Description: Sisu Boston Physical Therapy and Performance is a PT-owned, cash-based physical therapy and performance practice for active adults, runners, and athletes who want to keep doing what they love. We help people move from pain and injury back to running, lifting, competing, and living an active lifestyle, with care that goes beyond simply getting someone out of pain. Our practice sits at the intersection of orthopedics, pelvic health, and performance , with particular expertise in: Runners + endurance athletes — from injury rehabilitation and return-to-run to building strength, training capacity, and long‑term resilience Active adults + athletes — helping patients recover from injury, build strength, and return to the activities and sports they care about Orthopedic rehabilitation — using clinical reasoning, movement assessment, manual therapy, and progressive exercise to address the whole person rather than simply treating a diagnosis Pelvic health — providing evidence-based care for pelvic pain, urinary and bowel dysfunction, and other pelvic health concerns Pregnancy + postpartum — helping active women navigate pregnancy, prepare for birth, and rebuild strength and confidence postpartum, including returning to running, lifting, and sport Strength + performance — bridging the gap between rehabilitation and the demands of an active lifestyle Our 1:1, 60‑minute model gives clinicians the time and autonomy to provide thoughtful care and follow patients beyond the point where traditional physical therapy might discharge them. The Opportunity We are hiring our first clinical team member as we expand Sisu into Newton. This is an opportunity for a physical therapist who wants to work with a motivated, active patient population while having the autonomy to practice the way they believe physical therapy should be practiced. You’ll work closely with the founder while building your own patient population, developing your clinical niche, and helping shape the next phase of Sisu. We are open to: A full‑time position A part‑time position of 30 hours/week For the right person, this role has a pathway toward future clinical leadership as Sisu grows. Responsibilities You will: Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations Provide 60‑minute, 1:1 treatment sessions Develop individualized rehabilitation, strength, and return‑to‑activity plans Treat orthopedic and pelvic health conditions Work with runners, endurance athletes, and active adults Support patients through pregnancy and postpartum, including return to running, lifting, and sport Use exercise, strength training, movement retraining, manual therapy, and education as appropriate Coach patients through progressive rehabilitation and performance goals Build strong, long‑term patient relationships Communicate effectively with referring providers and other healthcare professionals Maintain accurate documentation and case management Participate in clinical mentorship and case discussions Contribute to the development of clinical systems and the growth of Sisu Why You'll Love It Here True 1:1 care — 60‑minute sessions with no double booking or aides Active patient population — runners, endurance athletes, recreational athletes, and motivated active adults Low‑volume caseload — enough time to think, assess, treat, educate, and coach Full continuum of care — take patients from pain and injury through strength, return to activity, and performance Unique clinical mix — combine orthopedic, sports, pelvic health, pregnancy/postpartum, and performance care Direct mentorship — work closely with the founder through clinical collaboration and case discussion Build your niche — develop expertise and a patient population around the areas you’re most passionate about Quality of life — flexible scheduling, unlimited PTO, no weekends, and a sustainable clinical environment Opportunity to build something — as Sisu’s first clinical hire, you’ll have a meaningful voice in the practice’s future The Ideal Candidate You may be a strong fit if you: Hold a DPT and Massachusetts PT license, or are eligible for licensure Have 3+ years experience in orthopedic physical therapy and/or pelvic health Enjoy working with runners, athletes, and active adults Are passionate about exercise‑based rehabilitation and performance Are confident in your clinical reasoning and comfortable practicing autonomously Are relationship‑oriented and communicate clearly Take initiative and enjoy ownership over your work Value clinical growth, mentorship, and continued learning Are excited by the opportunity to help build something from the ground up Experience or interest in the following is a plus: Running rehabilitation Endurance sports Strength and conditioning Sports rehabilitation Pelvic health Pregnancy and postpartum care Performance‑based physical therapy You do not need to be an expert in every area.
