Forklift Distribution Operator Job Category: Supply Chain & Warehousing & Distribution Schedule Days: Sunday–Wednesday 6a.m.–4p.m. Nights: Sunday–Wednesday 4p.m.–2a.m. Thursday–Saturday 6a.m.–6p.m. FLOAT/PREDICTIVE HIRE – can cover all shifts. Responsibilities Receive, warehouse, and process incoming finished goods, bulk cheese, and other merchandise. Assemble outbound orders to meet internal and customer requirements, including special packaging and volume requirements. Operate RF terminals and forklifts to perform order picking up to 50lb cases, cycle counting, and inventory adjustments. Build shipment loads, ensuring DOT standards and customer‑specific stacking and documentation requirements. Enter, reconcile, and validate vendor BOL quantities, weights, lot numbers, shelf life, and item numbers in Invio/Hive. Coordinate with leaders and partners to maintain food safety and partner safety, execute standard operating procedures, and complete required PCP checks. Handle re‑distribution tasks, performing accurate receipt of product, reconciling BOLs, and researching discrepancies per SOPs. Use and maintain all distribution center equipment, including forklift, stretch wrapper, pallet inverter, dock plate, dock lock, battery chargers, and battery crane. Operate in a 35–38°F environment, maintaining proper rotation of products within bulk cheese, finished goods, and dry storage warehouses. Communicate effectively with traffic clerk, inventory control, QA technician, system specialist, and leaders to meet customer demands. Perform overtime, weekend, and other scheduled work as required. Develop and maintain food safety training and certifications, and understand legal BOL procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. Valid forklift operator license; minimum 6months warehouse‑type experience. Completion of all job‑specific safety training (LOTO, JHA, etc.). Successful completion of 3–5week training checklist and meeting all requirements. Proficiency in distribution operations, order picking, data entry, and cycle counting. Experience with RF units, Invio/Hive system, and video display terminals. Understanding of GMPs and QSPs pertaining to distribution and cheese production. Knowledge of food safety requirements related to trailer condition, refrigerate settings, and cheese compatibility. Ability to complete over‑short and damage paperwork for inbound loads. Strong math skills, legible writing, and ability to read, speak, and comprehend English. Capacity to operate power equipment and maintain certifications as a power‑equipment operator. Physical Demands Work involves 12‑hour shifts with standing, walking, lifting, balancing, and operating a forklift. Tasks include lifting boxes above shoulder height up to 85lb, pushing/pulling plastic wrap pallets, moving pallets short distances, and rotating products.
