Management Trainee Program

Overview The Management Trainee position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Management Trainees perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work directly with the Store Manager to develop sales, recruiting and leadership skills in order to become a Store Manager. The Management Trainee will also share responsibility for training and motivating Teammates and act as the Store Manager in their absence. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $18-$22/hr The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Responsibilities Sales Generation and Guest Service: Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude; provide legendary service; answer questions about the store and merchandise; assist Guests in locating and selecting merchandise; anticipate needs and suggest additional items; demonstrate product knowledge and train Teammates; stay informed on promotions, policies, and security practices; work toward personal sales goals; utilize the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to achieve targets; build client relationships and model strong customer service and leadership skills. Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development: Develop and lead Teammates, motivate daily task completion, coach and counsel per Buckle policies, recruit/store interviews and support interviewing with the Store Manager. Visual Merchandise Management: Create and educate on visual displays per Buckle guidelines; manage product categories; maintain store standards; ensure appropriate display of new freight. Operations: Maintain flexible scheduling; complete the Management Trainee Program with weekly topics and reviews; communicate with Area Manager, District Manager and Corporate Office; perform opening/closing procedures; implement Buckle developments; balance registers and deposits; adhere to Loss Prevention; handle returns and other operational duties; provide feedback to management; monitor inventory and keep the store clean and shoppable; report repairs and policy concerns; comply with Code of Ethics and Buckle policies. Supervisory and Leadership: Assist Store Manager with daily team planning and meetings; oversee onboarding and interviewing; prepare to assume Store Manager responsibilities in their absence; travel within District as needed; uphold Buckle mission and lead with customer service and teamwork; undertake special projects as assigned. Qualifications No visa sponsorship is available Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel, including overnight as required Relocation may be required Education And/or Experience Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field is preferred; or one to three months of related retail experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
