About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP Operations to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and overseeing the overall operations and site management of the Distribution Centers. This includes negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements, ensuring the implementation of procedures that promote safety, efficiency, and profitability, and leading site management for standalone locations. The role also involves strategic planning, integrating various operational activities, and maintaining profitable operations by controlling inventory, losses, and safety. The VP Operations will be a key figure in the company, with a focus on long-term operations objectives that align with business goals and a commitment to continuous improvement in productivity and customer service. Candidates for the VP Operations position at the company should have a 4-year degree (preferred) or a High School Diploma (or GED) with equivalent experience, and at least 10 years' of operations experience, with a minimum of 5 years' in a management role. The role requires a strong understanding of D.O.T. regulations, labor relations, customer service, budgeting, and cost control, as well as knowledge of OSHA, HAACP, and other relevant regulations. The VP Operations will be expected to have excellent leadership and communication skills, the ability to enforce company policies, and a proactive approach to networking and sharing best practices. Experience in negotiating collective bargaining agreements is essential for candidates applying for this role in union facilities.
