About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – South Texas**Start Date:** October 26, 2026 **Location:** McAllen, Texas **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Rotating shifts (days, mids, nights) with every other weekend required; 1:5 patient ratio; 10-bed Freestanding Emergency Department**Highlights:**- Work in a fully equipped freestanding emergency department treating patients of all ages- Team-based care model with 3 RNs, 1 radiology technician, and 1 physician per shift- Float opportunities to main Emergency Department and other sister freestanding locations- Meditech EMR system utilized for clinical documentation- Diverse case mix including trauma stabilization, moderate sedation, chest tube insertion, central line placement, and lumbar punctures- Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates strongly preferred**Requirements:**- Current Texas RN license in good standing- Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required- Proficiency with Meditech EMR system- Strong triage skills and ability to prioritize patient care effectively- Comfortable managing patients of all ages in emergency settings- Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers preferred- Proficiency in rapid sequence intubation, mechanical ventilation setup, and obstetric emergency deliveries highly desirable- Ability to perform splinting, arterial blood gases, and nebulizer treatments**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This position offers the chance to work in a collaborative, team-focused environment where strong communication and teamwork are essential to delivering high-quality emergency care.
