The ideal employee will thrive in a learning environment that encourages independence, initiative, leadership, and professional growth.Why should you apply?You like solving technical challenges in a fast-paced collaborative environmentYou're interested in building a key component in hardware and prototypesYou want to work somewhere your interests can influence the direction of the companyYou enjoy making products that are both technically and visually intriguingYou want to develop adaptability and problem-solving skills as you tackle diverse challenges The PositionDuties & ResponsibilitiesDesigns and develops prototypes including printers, motion control systems, drones, robots, and autonomous systemsCollaborates with developers, fellow engineers, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to understand the requirements and scope of the projectAnalyzes dynamics of automated mechanical systems and robotic systemsDrafts blueprints, sketches, or other documentation demonstrating proposed ideas and prototypes, modifying based on feedback and simulation resultsConstructs, configures, tests, and debugs systemsInstalls, operates, calibrates, and maintains mechatronic systemsEnsures that machines operate safely, dependably, and with precision; identifies and implements modificationsProvides technical support and troubleshooting services for systemsRecommends, develops, and implements enhancements and improvements to increase production volume or precision in high-throughput operationsMaintains documentation of development process, modifications, maintenance requirements, and other dataAssists with cost estimates and bills of materialsMaintains knowledge of existing and developing technology and trends in mechatronicsPerforms other related duties as assigned  QualificationsBasicBachelor 's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or Computer ScienceAt least 10 years of related experienceThorough understanding of electrical wiring and computer software engineeringExtremely proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create accurate drawings and schematicsExperience with motion systems (i.e. Servo motors, Stepper motors, linear actuators, CNC Platforms, Robotic Arms)Experience with programming embedded systems (Texas Instruments, Arduino, Microchip, Xilinx)Experience with integrating sensors (i.e. accelerometers, gyros, thermocouples, encoders)Experience in developing software in C, C++, PythonExperience with computer vision (openCV)Experience with PCB layout (Altium preferred)Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to create reports and documentationAbility to use tools and perform tasks such as soldering, welding, and metal cutting with precision and accuracyThe ability to obtain/maintain a final Secret DoD clearance, for which the US Government requires US CitizenshipAuthorization to work for employers in the U.S. without sponsorship.
