Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support an 8th grade student in a rewarding full-time contract role that combines compassion with hands-on care. This opportunity is ideal for a paraprofessional who takes pride in making a tangible difference in the school environment. You’ll provide dedicated assistance to a student with a broken leg, facilitating safe mobility throughout the school day and helping in daily routines.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional in educational or similar settings
- Demonstrated reliability and professionalism in working with students requiring mobility support
- Familiarity with assisting students using wheelchairs, including safe transport and maneuvering
- Comfort providing toileting assistance as part of daily student care
- Relevant onboarding and eligibility to work with students in school settings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a patient, positive attitude when supporting students
Role Responsibilities:
- Support the assigned 8th grade male student throughout the school day, ensuring safe movement between classrooms and activities via wheelchair
- Assist with toileting as required, maintaining privacy and dignity for the student
- Monitor and support the student’s comfort and well-being, responding to changing needs
- Communicate regularly with teachers, school staff, and caregivers about student progress and concerns
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols within the school environment
