Position Overview OB Surg Tech - Labor & Delivery Location Cartersville, GA Responsibilities Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during obstetrical operations performed in the operating room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. Understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the surgeon’s needs. Maintain quality patient care and a sterile field throughout the operative procedure. Perform patient‑care duties under the direction of a registered nurse. Required Certifications BLS required. Valid NRP certification (preferred). Minimum Education High School diploma or GED equivalent. Experience Graduate from a surgical technologist training program OR one year of previous operating room experience as a surgical/delivery room technologist OR three years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting. Additional Qualifications Preferred completion of a fetal monitoring workshop and an orientation to learn surgical asepsis.
