The assignment length is for 13 or 26 weeks. The shift is 4x10 days. Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience are required. First-time candidates are accepted. There is a call requirement for electrophysiology but it typically occurs from 6-8 PM if staff have gone home for the day. Otherwise, staff are usually part of the late team and stay until cases are finished. Most of the time, staff do not stay late and are rarely called back after leaving. Some Saturdays are required as part of the regular schedule. If needed, clinicians may float to similar units to meet facility needs. Clinicians are open to accommodating block schedules. Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles away. Time off must be approved on an individual basis upon offer. All time off requests must be included in the submission. Guaranteed hours are 70 hours per 2 weeks, with the possibility of being called off for one 10-hour shift during that period. The unit involves diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, STEMI cases, IABP, Impella, and structural heart procedures. Preferred skills include rhythm interpretation and experience with various catheter devices. Familiarity with the respective charting systems is necessary. Candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with housing options in the area, as options may be limited. Candidates must be willing to work two out of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. Travelers can work for a maximum of one calendar year in their assignment and must wait a minimum of six months before returning for another assignment. References are required covering at least one year of experience within the last three years prior to starting. Completion of required training modules is expected before and annually during the assignment.
