Ammonia Refrigeration Service Technician Job Description Ammonia Refrigeration Service Technician Location: Harrisonburg, VA (Relocation Welcome) Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Industrial Refrigeration / Mechanical Contracting Pay Range: $30.00-$45.00 (DOE) About The Role Are you an experienced Industrial Refrigeration (IR) Technician looking for variety, travel opportunities, and career growth? We’re hiring a Service Technician to support our industrial refrigeration customers throughout the Harrisonburg, VA area. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair ammonia and industrial refrigeration systems Perform mechanical rebuilds on commercial/industrial compressors Maintain evaporative condensers, control systems, and electrical components Execute preventative maintenance and inspection tasks per service agreements Coordinate with dispatch/service coordinator for job scheduling and task execution Maintain compliance with OSHA, IIAR, and RETA safety standards Travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites Respond to emergency service calls, including weekends and evenings as needed Qualifications 5+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration service Strong understanding of ammonia, cascade, and rack systems Hands-on experience with control systems and conventional electrical controls EPA CFC certification required RETA Course I and II certifications preferred Knowledge of OSHA, IIAR, and industry safety standards Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and OT as needed Strong problem-solving and communication skills Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Excellent medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 401(k) plan with company match Paid time off and holidays Career development and training opportunities Employee referral incentives Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Travel opportunities and varied work environments Why Join Us?
