Job Details: Prepare and serve meals in a healthcare setting while following food safety, sanitation, and dietary guidelines. Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year cooking experience (healthcare, senior living, hospice, long-term care, hospital, or high-volume kitchen preferred).
• Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and temperature controls (ServSafe preferred or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and production sheets.
• Experience with special diets a plus (mechanical soft, renal, diabetic, low sodium, texture-modified).
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; dependable and punctual.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift/move kitchen supplies, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to follow infection-control and safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and portion menu items according to recipes, production schedules, and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are prepared on time and to quality standards (taste, temperature, presentation).
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures (proper storage, labeling, rotation/FIFO, cleaning schedules).
• Monitor and record food temperatures and ensure proper hot/cold holding.
• Assist with meal service (tray line, plating, serving, and/or catering support as needed).
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment cleaning and workstation sanitation.
• Communicate with dietary/nutrition staff regarding menu changes, substitutions, allergies, and special requests.
• Help with inventory awareness, stocking, and notifying leadership of supply needs.
