The Role

The Fidelity Institutional Technology group is seeking a Principal Systems Analyst to be part of the FI Trading Solutions Squad! The focus of this position will entail driving the technical analysis and support of our FI Trading systems. This team is passionate about troubleshooting order related issues that can span multiple areas. You will be expected to support extensive gap analysis, research code from both middleware to backend, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills to help define a fix. You will work closely with the Squad Lead, Developers, and Quality Assurance, to craft, build, test, and deliver the features that make up FI Trading Solution experiences.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree required, with outstanding aptitude for business systems design and solutions. 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst with software application development. Proactive, organized, highly responsive and committed to quality. Highly effective written and verbal communication is a must. Confidence to convey technical concepts, capabilities and needs to team members, product owners and other internal partners. Deep understanding of Agile development methodologies. Ability to distill business processes and objectives into well-defined epics/requirements. Strong problem-solving skills to optimally tackle sophisticated business problems. Ability to work through ambiguous situations by making timely decisions based on facts, knowledge, experience, and judgment. Knowledge /experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery is a plus. Relevant experience in various systems analysis methodologies, including data analysis, data mapping, flowcharts, uses case development, story writing, set-up / configuration of systems, gap analysis, user acceptance testing and product documentation. Working knowledge of Splunk is required. Working knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, and APIs is required. Working knowledge of Trading is desired.

Provide systems analysis support on an Agile team that includes multiple business partners (cross business unit, cross domain) and collaborate with multiple other Agile teams (Scaled Agile) to lead dependencies and scope. Work with business and technology partners to define the scope of problems/issues, in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes. Lead backlog refinement sessions. Translate complex business needs into clear, practical, requirements/user stories. Research and evaluate alternative solutions. Evaluate design of existing systems to judge their functionality, efficiency, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability, and cost of ownership.

The Team

Fidelity Institutional provides products and services to banks, broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, family offices, and other financial intermediaries to meet their brokerage and banking needs. The FI technology platform is an integrated collection of products and services that are delivered to these external clients, primarily via web-based and mobile applications, application programming interfaces, transmission files, and collaborates with third-party applications. Some of these products and services are - and not limited to - trading, account servicing and maintenance, account opening and money movement, reporting, and data delivery and presentation. We are seeking a Systems Analyst, to join our systems analysis chapter.
