Commission Specialist

Job Summary The Commission Specialist’s purpose is to ensure accurate and timely processing of the company’s monthly sales commission payroll, including the gathering and entering of data. The specialist will apply commission, HR, and company policies when reviewing commission and payroll, and will interact with sales reps to answer questions about their commission statements. Role Description Perform daily employee maintenance updates within the commissions files Ensure all commission entries are processed accurately and on time Assess the commission's report for errors and outliers before transmission to payroll Research Gross Margin reports provided by accounting to flag data issues for accurate commission reporting Maintain records of employee compensation plans and implement changes when needed Understand and adhere to company policies when reviewing commission and payroll Generate statements to sales reps with details of their commissions Respond to employee commission inquiries promptly Behaviors and Competencies Attention to Detail: Can identify errors or inconsistencies in work and make necessary corrections Analytical Thinking: Can apply critical thinking to analyze data, identify patterns, and make basic inferences Financial Awareness: Can analyze and interpret financial reports Data Analysis: Can identify patterns and trends in data, propose hypotheses, and use statistical techniques to test them Documentation: Can independently create and update documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and can identify gaps or areas needing clarification Time Management: Can generally use time effectively and is working towards improving task prioritization and deadline management Problem-Solving: Can identify problems, propose solutions, and take action to resolve them without explicit instructions Communication: Can effectively communicate complex ideas and information, and can adapt communication style to the audience Ethics: Can identify ethical dilemmas, propose solutions, and take action to uphold ethical standards without explicit instructions Organization: Can prioritize daily tasks, manage personal workflow, and utilize basic tools to keep track of responsibilities Skill Level Requirements Ability to effectively utilize applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to enhance productivity and perform various tasks efficiently – Intermediate Completed Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field 1‑3 years of experience in a similar role or relevant work experience required Compensation & Benefits Estimated annual pay range: $40,000 - $70,000 (base salary and bonus) Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), and flexible spending accounts Equal Employment Opportunity – M/F/Disability/Protected Veteran Status #J-18808-Ljbffr
