Job Description The Operations Manager will provide leadership and guidance to a specialized team in planning, organizing, and managing operations, ensuring chemical loading, warehouse activities, and related processes are performed in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner. Participate in budget preparation, management of profit and loss, and daily communication withcustomers and railroads on scheduling and other issues to ensure smooth and safe operation. Provide "Worry-free Consistency" service to the customers on every shift every day. Learn, implement, teach, and execute the S7 Operating System and 5S standards. Ability to build strong relationships with customer contacts. Ability to understand the customer contract and rate structure. Ability to delegate and utilize time management well. Ability to develop and execute a business plan. (including budgeting, projecting, variance analysis, and cost management) Ability to promote a safety culture where each Team Member has the value and attitude that unsafebehaviors and conditions will not happen on their shift. Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Knowledge of loading chemicals. Transload experience A+. Hands on, hard-working, self-starter. Ability to multi-task. Ability to hire right, train right, and treat right all team members. Must have leadership skills to ensure team members always follow procedures even when there is no one. is watching. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work with and perform basic computer operations (spreadsheet, word processor, and email operations), and general office organization. Good written and oral skills with an ability to communicate with co-workers, customers, and others. Ability to lead employees, support conflict resolution, and implement safety initiatives. Knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements. Desire and willingness to learn. Education & Experience 3+ years management preferred. 5+ years of chemical loading experience preferred. Must be able to work outdoors in various climates. Ability to work varying shifts dependent on operation and/or customer needs. Ability to meet physical requirements for the position.
