Data Architect/Modeler

This position is with the Enterprise System Management (ESM) department. The position is with a team responsible for a set of systems used to manage clients IT inventory and assets data, together with their configuration and operational state. The main project will be to create, document and maintain enterprise-wide data models to represent IT infrastructure and its relationship with business applications. The organization is looking to adopt ServiceNows CSDM data model, however the scope of this position is beyond ServiceNow, as there are a number of other data warehouses that will be under this positions scope of responsibility. The data architect will facilitate the collection of information requirements, as well as the development and management of conceptual, logical and physical data models. The data architect will work with data providers to understand and model incoming data into coherent data models. The data architect will be responsible for the development of a common business vocabulary/ontology for IT infrastructure based on ServiceNows CSDM. Existing data models need to be bridged to ServiceNows CSDM. The core responsibilities of this position are:

• Develop metadata schemas, taxonomies, ontologies and content models
• Design new relational data models
• Interact with stakeholders and customers to collect and analyze data requirements.
• Create models to represent new data concepts into existing data models
• Analyze and consolidate legacy data models into CSDM
• Drive CSDM adoption across the organization.

Qualifications (required):

• Experience with database design and data modeling
• Experience doing business analysis
• Experience with data warehouse design
• Experience documenting information flows
• Knowledge of ServiceNows CSDM
• 10+ years of industry experience in a client facing role
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile and project management methodology
• Self-motivated, with a high level of initiative

Qualifications (nice to have):

• Prior software development experience
• Knowledge of data pipelines and data warehouse technologies
• Knowledge of reporting frameworks/technologies (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
• ServiceNow Administrator Certification
• Previous experience implementing ITAM processes on top of ServiceNow
• Previous experience implementing a CMDB
• ITIL certification.
• Previous experience working with a ServiceNow partner consultancy, having done CSDM implementations with multiple clients
