Creative Designer

The Paramount Theater of Charlottesville seeks an interesting thinker and doer for the role of Creative Designer. As part of a lean and mighty Communications team, you will put your experience and skills to work on a high number of print, digital, and physical projects each year. With nearly 300 events each year, The Paramount is never short on activity or excitement. Project Examples Quarterly Playbill design (print, 72 pages) Biannual newsletter design (print, 16 pages) Event asset management and support Creation and management of print and digital advertisements, posters, and signage Administration of box office and box office window displays Presentation collaboration and support Website maintenance Qualifications Technical Expertise: Adobe Suite (Photoshop and InDesign a must, Lightroom and Illustrator a bonus, Premier a double bonus), WordPress, Canva, and email platform/CRM familiarity (Constant Contact, MailChimp, HubSpot, etc.), plus the usual Microsoft Office programs. Imagination and Fun: From process and efficiency to approaches and perspectives, your ideas are guaranteed a listening audience. No one is immune to challenges and curveballs, and your creativity and level‑headed approach to problem solving are always at the ready. Soft Skills: Not all of your work will be conducted at a desk. Moving about a crowd of patrons, engaging with event volunteers, and interacting with Board members are just some of the environments that will allow you to showcase your outward self. Comfort with Visibility: Your work will be viewed by many, many people, and criticism, solicited or not, is part of the job. Salary range is $62,000-$67,000 and is commensurate with experience.
