Job Description

Join a highly collaborative manufacturing team that builds specialized machines used to distribute and spray liquid adhesives across a wide range of industries, including automotive, agriculture, food and beverage, and consumer products. As an Assembly Associate, you will focus on assembling dispensing equipment, preparing and tracking parts, and supporting warehouse material picking while following detailed blueprints, electrical diagrams, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble dispensing equipment and subassemblies according to blueprints, electrical diagrams, and work instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate assembly and component placement.
• Operate and maintain equipment and tools required for mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
• Use miscellaneous hand tools, measuring tools, gauges, and test equipment to complete assembly work accurately.
• Safely operate power lift equipment and, when required, tow motors to move materials and products within the facility.
• Prepare parts for assembly, including labeling, organizing, and staging components for production.
• Track movement of parts and materials to support efficient production and accurate inventory control.
• Inspect assembled parts and finished equipment to ensure quality standards are met and document inspection results.
• Record and report quality metrics and issues to support continuous improvement and traceability.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of tools and equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Comply with production and administrative procedures, including documentation, labeling, and workflow processes.
• Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and quality.
• Communicate clearly with leaders, peers, and other team members to coordinate work and resolve issues.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment to meet production goals and support colleagues as needed.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of assembly experience, which may include automotive or similar mechanical assembly environments.
• Proficiency using wrenches and related hand tools for mechanical assembly tasks.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and work instructions accurately.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with production and assembly processes.
• Experience using hand and power tools in a production or assembly setting.
• Ability to use a computer for basic tasks such as following work instructions, entering data, or tracking parts.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical diagrams at a level needed for assembly tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and quality in assembling parts and equipment.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with valves in mechanical or fluid systems.
• Exposure to wiring or basic electrical assembly work.
• Background in production assembly, including assembly line environments.
• Experience with mechanical assembly involving adhesives, mechanical components, or similar equipment.
• Comfort using gauges, measuring tools, and test equipment to verify dimensions and performance.
• General labor experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Work Environment

Work in a large, clean, and well-lit manufacturing facility designed for efficient assembly and warehouse operations. The central area of the building houses subassembly stations where machines are built, while warehouse and shipping activities take place at the back of the building and in a dedicated back room. The facility is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable environment throughout the year. Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with openness to Saturday work as needed, averaging around 40 hours per week. You will regularly use hand and power tools, measuring tools, gauges, test equipment, and power lift equipment, and may operate tow motors to move materials and finished products safely.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, MI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Wixom,MI.
