Amex GBT’s Security GRC team is looking for a motivated and curious Summer Intern to support our Governance, Risk, and Compliance programs. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity GRC within a dynamic, industry-leading corporate travel platform. You’ll work alongside experienced GRC professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and build foundational skills in information security, risk management, and compliance.

What You'll Do

• Support risk identification and assessment activities by gathering and analyzing data related to information security controls.

• Assist with compliance assessments to evaluate adherence to security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

• Help collect and organize evidence for audit activities, including documentation review and preliminary gap analysis.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security documentation, such as policies, procedures, and standards.

• Assist in tracking and monitoring security and compliance metrics to help assess control effectiveness.

• Collaborate with GRC team members on process improvement initiatives and special projects.

• Research emerging cybersecurity trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to support team initiatives.

• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and security awareness activities.

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Information Security, Risk Management, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and an interest in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).

• Basic awareness of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2) or regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize findings clearly.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Eagerness to learn and a proactive, collaborative attitude.

The US national base salary range for this position is from

$42,700.00 - $79,300.00

The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
