Providence Center Program Manager II
The Providence Center Program Manager II oversees daily program operations for two or more teams, developing and implementing peer support and recovery services for individuals affected by substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. They provide leadership, ensure high-quality, recovery-oriented services, foster community partnerships, and promote evidence-based practices that support long-term recovery and wellness.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage daily team operations and activities to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.
- Manage procedures, systems of continuous improvement, metrics and outcomes.
- Support staff hiring, onboarding, training, development and performance evaluations.
- Address performance issues, provide coaching to team members and promote a collaborative, professional team culture. Collaborate with HR partners on disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Manage program budgets, staffing schedules, and resource allocation. Oversee program expenditures.
- Provide back up to staff when needed by performing all duties associated with Peer Recovery Specialist, such as individual/group peer support.
- Participate in regular local/state meetings and recovery support services committees.
- Ensure services align with recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered care principles.
- Develop and monitor peer support programming to meet organizational goals and community needs.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate comprehensive care for participants.
- Monitor program outcomes and prepare reports for leadership and funding agencies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations, policies, and accreditation standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to ethical and organizational policies.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with treatment providers, recovery organizations, hospitals, courts, shelters, and community agencies.
- Facilitate access to recovery resources, including housing, employment, education, transportation, and healthcare.
- Support outreach, engagement, and retention efforts for individuals in recovery.
- Participate in strategic planning, quality improvement initiatives, and grant activities.
- Respond to crises and assist staff in implementing appropriate interventions.
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive services.
- Maintain cooperative relationships and communication with clients, staff and the public.
- Perform other related duties to support program goals and client needs.
Requirements
- High School or GED Required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 to 5 Years of working in a peer support setting. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of lived experience with substance use and/or mental health disorders for self, family member, or loved one, and the ability to appropriately share experience with clients. Someone who views clients' needs with a high priority and who would be a strong advocate for them with other treatment providers. Someone who espouses a strong desire to help others.
- Experience in behavioral and/or mental health preferred.
- Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection and insured automobile.
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist required.
- Strong leadership, supervision and team-building skills.
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery pathways, and accessing community resources.
- Personal knowledge of addiction, recovery, treatment and recovery support services, including housing, education, employment, and healthcare resources.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (including Excel), data analysis and report interpretation.
- Good computer, typing, and electronic medical record (EMR) documentation skills, with good spelling and grammar.
- Ability to analyze program data and implement performance improvements.
- Commitment to confidentiality, professional boundaries and ethical standards, including adherence to the CRPS Code of Ethics.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals and populations.
- Cultural competence and commitment to equitable and inclusive services.
- Highly motivated, independent, and self-directed.
- Ability to travel within the community with reliable transportation.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
