Job Description Inova Fairfax Hospital's Main Tower PACU is currently seeking a Full-Time night shift Perianesthesia experienced registered nurse. Scheduled hours: 2000-0830 with minimal on-call requirement. Must be able to orient on day shift. This dynamic perianesthesia care unit (PACU) serves a wide variety of surgical patients from the ambulatory to those requiring critical care. The surgical population includes ENT, general, colorectal, neurosurgery, orthopedic, plastics (both cosmetic and trauma), thoracic, transplants, and urology. We serve the entire age continuum from the pediatric to the geriatric patient with most patients being adult. Nurses in this unit care for the perianesthesia patient throughout all phases including Preop, Phase 1, and Phase 2; and rotate as necessary to fit the needs of the unit. Our team is looking for RNs with critical care or PACU experience; with trauma care experience a plus. Necessary skills include critical thinking along with the ability to prioritize and excellent communication skills. RN PACU Qualifications Experience – 1 year of PACU or Critical Care (ICU/ED) nursing experience Certification - Basic Life Support through AHA Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
