P&C Underwriter- Commercial Real Estate

P&C Underwriter – Commercial Real Estate We are looking for an experienced P&C Underwriter to join our HabPro program, which falls under the Real Estate Segment at Novacore. HabPro Insurance is a commercial real‑estate insurance provider specializing in Package, Monoline Property, and Monoline GL for apartments and condominium associations. Location: California (Los Angeles or San Diego preferred). Responsibilities Build a portfolio of business that aligns with a set budget expectation. Provide leadership in accordance with the company's vision, mission and values while supervising, training and guiding the underwriting department. Maintain and conform to all underwriting guidelines for company procedures, rate levels and underwriting authorities domestic and foreign. Participate in strategic discussions regarding expansion into additional states and/or territories. Communicate effectively with internal and external teams about goal setting and strategic sales initiatives. Generate a profitable portfolio with a focus on underwriting discipline and annual monthly/yearly premium goals. Protect core best practices to ensure alignment and execution. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years property and casualty underwriting experience with an emphasis on binding authority and brokerage underwriting. Experience in product development, distribution channel discussions/decisions, and territory expansion strongly preferred. Knowledge of additional property and casualty products desired. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. P&C license not required but highly sought after, and eligible for reimbursement if obtained upon hire.
