The Procurement Agent is responsible for the tactical procurement of industrial tools, fasteners, and accessories domestically and internationally. The Procurement Agent coordinates their efforts with other Procurement Agents and the Procurement team Management in order to maintain the appropriate level of inventory to meet sales demands. The Procurement Agent supports supplier development and quality control processes with suppliers both domestically and internationally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Procurement Agent will utilize product and procurement knowledge to purchase goods at the most favorable price and lead time and commercial terms for HYTORC Industrial Bolting Systems while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers. The Procurement Agent is proactive in their approach to coordinating the activities involved with procuring goods, will manage the review and processing of requisitions, and will manage the RFQ process with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

Responsibilities:  

• Responsible for procurement and purchasing activities on assigned projects/vendors.
• Actively monitors inventory replenishment reports to determine and plan Purchase Order levels and appropriate timing for release of orders to suppliers.
• Prepare, review and issue purchase orders.
• Prepare, review and issue Requests for Quote.
• Prepare, review and issue SAP Production orders.
• Proactively communicates with Customer Service, Product Management, Quality, Engineering, Marketing, and all HYTORC stakeholders to ensure proper execution of requirements.
• Works closely with Quality Control to maintain vendor quality standards and to manage corrective action processes for any non-conforming goods or services.
• Ensure that all contract procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner.
• Proactively support Customer Service and all stakeholders to confirm purchasing requirements, ensuring timely purchase of goods to meet customer demands.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This role is a non-supervisory individual contributor.

Education/Experience Required :

• Post-secondary degree &/or an equivalent certification in supply chain, logistics or business.
• In lieu of a post-secondary degree &/or an equivalent certification, 3-5 years of relevant career experience in supply chain, logistics or business.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role; preferably in industrial engineering and manufacturing.
• Mastery of standard procurement, inventory management and demand planning best practices and techniques.
• Experience with building and developing new stakeholder relationships and functioning as a cross-functional POC.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume fast paced environment.
• High proficiency in logistics methods and import/customs procedures.

Necessary Computer Skills :

• Experience with entire Microsoft Office suite is required.
• Experience with SAP B1 and other ERP systems is considered an asset.
• Other project management, MRP and analytics systems experience is preferred.

Physical Demands/Requirements :

• This role is a standard administrative office position; there are no lifting or standing requirements.

W ork Environment :

• Standard office environment of moderate to low noise level
• The normal work environment is an office area. However, there may be occasional visits to the warehouse area which is in close proximity to the loading dock. Periodic opening closing of the overhead door can cause temporary temperature variations and noise levels higher than in the normal “office” areas.
• Travel approximately 5-10% of the time, some domestic and/or international supplier visits may be required.

Compensation :

• The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 annually . Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other business-related factors.
