School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Detroit, Michigan

Step into an impactful role supporting early learners as a full-time, in-person Speech-Language Pathologist. Shape the communication skills of children from birth to third grade and contribute to their lifelong academic and social success. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide direct intervention and consultation within a dynamic school-based setting from August 24th through Thanksgiving.


Your caseload will include up to 40 children, ranging from infants to age five, as well as supporting students in preschool through third grade at two non-public educational settings. You'll collaborate with classroom educators, support staff, and families in a nurturing team environment, providing high-quality speech and language services.


Key qualifications:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current SLP - CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) credential
• Previous experience with pediatric or early childhood populations strongly preferred
• Understanding of school-based SLP best practices and compliance procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for family and staff collaboration
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt therapy to developmental needs

Primary responsibilities:

• Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations as required
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each student
• Deliver engaging, evidence-based therapy sessions in classrooms or one-on-one
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and progress reports
• Participate in IEP meetings and coordinate with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Offer guidance to teachers and families to support carryover of communication skills
