Responsibilities Continuously monitor assigned telemetry and EKG monitors, respond to alarms promptly and appropriately, and verify correct identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact. Maintain EKG monitor alarms and ensure all alarms are addressed in a timely manner. Complete EKG interpretations including: rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation. Ensure strip interpretations are validated by registered nurses. Minimum Qualifications Complete and pass the EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on the education platform within 30 days of starting the position, and pass any additional tests/competencies required by Select Medical. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)*, Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training (*LPNs are limited to working as telemetry tech only).
