Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with behavioral needs
- Ability to create structured, supportive classroom routines
- Effective communication with students, staff, and families
- Strong classroom management and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Provide behavioral support and consistent guidance in a self-contained middle school classroom
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom climate that encourages positive behaviors
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including support staff and related service providers
- Maintain accurate records and communicate student growth with families and staff
