About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, 53066!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Critical Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EPIC experience Description: The Critical Care unit is a Level II trauma center. The unit has 14 beds and provides care for a variety of complex medical conditions. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, COVID, COPD, respiratory failure, kidney failure, liver failure, GI bleeds, and DKA. Cardiac patient conditions treated include CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and post-cath procedures. Trauma cases involve gunshot wounds, stab injuries, and falls. Surgical care includes GYN and GI procedures. Neuro conditions treated on the unit encompass SDH, TBI, CVA, and TIA. Patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 1:3, with team nursing employed when ratios exceed 2 patients. Long-term vented patients will be managed by ICU RNs for vent management, while Med/Surg RNs will manage the overall care of the patient. Required skills include: Vent and trach management Tube and drain management Chest tube and invasive line management, including art lines and CVP Cardiac rhythm interpretation Surgical recovery assistance Medication titration including sedation and pressors Support within the department includes: Charge Nurse typically taking a patient assignment 1-2 CNAs per shift Bedside and centralized telemetry monitoring HUC support on day shifts Available respiratory therapy 24/7 Hospitalist and intensivist coverage 24/7 Occupational and physical therapy available during the day Travelers may float within the hospital based on scope of practice. When floating to Med/Surg or Tele units, a 1:4 ratio may be expected. Scheduling includes: Weekend rotation every other weekend. One holiday expected per contract. Requests for time off can be approved up to 7 days. Shift times are from 0700 to 1900 and 1900 to 0700. Scrub color is any solid color, professional without graphics, logos, or designs.
