Role Description HOGAR Inc. is seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations across the organization, with a focus on the HOGAR Foundation , a recently established and growing nonprofit entity. This role will be responsible for core accounting functions including payroll processing, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and general ledger activity, while also helping track financial activity related to fundraising events such as a luncheon and annual galas. The position offers strong exposure to both nonprofit and corporate accounting and will work closely with the Controller in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career accountant looking to broaden their responsibilities and gain hands‑on experience across multiple entities. Key Responsibilities Foundation Accounting Maintain accounting records for the HOGAR Foundation, including tracking donations, ticket sales, and fundraising event activity Support accounting for fundraising initiatives including luncheons, galas, auctions, and sponsorship contributions Track donor contributions and assist with documentation supporting donor acknowledgment letters and contribution records Record and reconcile intercompany activity between HOGAR Inc. and the HOGAR Foundation, including due to/due from entries Assist with maintaining accurate records related to foundation‑related expenses and restricted funds Core Accounting Responsibilities Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations Assist with petty cash tracking and expense reimbursements and replenish petty cash as needed Assist with general ledger maintenance and preparation of journal entries Support month‑end close processes Track and reconcile program‑related expenses across multiple locations and initiatives Payroll & Other Responsibilities Process payroll on a bi‑monthly basis (approximately 2-4 days per month) Record payroll‑related journal entries including allocation among multiple programs and reconciliations Assist with accounting support for various programs and funding sources, including government‑funded initiatives (ex: DHS programs) Provide ad‑hoc accounting and administrative support as the team continues to grow Qualifications 1–3 years of accounting experience – preference for Non‑Profit or Foundation Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software Strong Excel skills and attention to detail Interest in nonprofit or foundation accounting Ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing environment Strong organizational and communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr HOGAR Inc.
