K-2 Intervention Teacher

School's mission is to eradicate generational poverty by providing a rigorous, college and career preparatory education for students from kindergarten through 12th grade, focusing on academic preparation, college and career readiness, and life skills for success. We are seeking an Elementary Interventionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and challenging learning environment, implement rigorous and differentiated instruction, and support the academic and social‑emotional growth of all students. Primary Job Responsibilities Prepares, plans, and instructs small groups of students using a variety of effective teaching strategies such as scaffolding instruction and creating differentiated activities that lead to student comprehension and growth. Effectively implements guided reading and math instruction and facilitates small reading and math groups based on data. Provides classroom support for teachers and students. Assists with training and professional development schoolwide. Collects and analyzes data by identifying students’ common misconceptions; uses lesson plans and weekly progress monitoring to pinpoint students’ success and achievement in previously taught concepts. Follows and implements the school‑wide behavior plan, including reinforcing and monitoring individualized behavior plans. Meets weekly with the MTSS Intervention Coordinator/coach to discuss management, rigor, and data. Understands the importance of effective communication and building positive relationships with all stakeholders. Contributes to parent/teacher conferences as related to students’ performance. Adheres to deadlines as outlined by the intervention team coordinator or administration. Collaboration & Professional Growth Embraces a growth mindset by actively seeking and applying feedback to enhance instructional practices and student learning outcomes. Participates in planning and coaching sessions with the curriculum leader. Works closely with grade‑level teams, instructional coaches, and support staff to enhance student learning. Actively participates in professional development and seeks opportunities for continuous growth. Contributes to the school community through team meetings, committees, and events. Required Skills and Qualifications Minimum bachelor's degree. Teacher certification/license. Three years or more of quality classroom teaching experience.
