Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care before, during, and after surgery
• Perform patient assessments, maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment, and deliver pre- and post-operative patient education
• Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical care continuum
• Circulate across all surgical specialties (excluding cardiac and ophthalmology), including vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, and ENT; strong vascular and orthopedic surgery skills are required
• Provide coverage in Labor & Delivery for C-sections as needed across a 14-room OR suite
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active New York RN license required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of current, recent OR experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Float experience across vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, and ENT required
• Both scrub and circulate experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have a personal vehicle; this is a firm requirement
• Must have completed verbal de-escalation training through an approved provider (Welle, CPI, or PMCS) prior to onboarding
• Must be able to pass a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Candidates with a permanent address in the following New York counties are not eligible for this assignment: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Scrub experience in addition to circulating is a highly valued additional skill
• Experience with pediatric through adult patient populations
• Familiarity with high-volume OR environments (approximately 50 procedures per day)
