Surgical Physician Assistant Or Nurse Practitioner

Position at Nuvance Health Med Practice PC The Subspecialty Surgical PA Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking to add a full-time board-certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its surgical APP team. The Surgical APP Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center is a hospital-based group that offers a supportive and team-based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties including but not limited to Urology and Gyn-Oncology. The surgical rounder will care for all surgical inpatients, perform consults, admissions, and discharges. This position currently does not require O.R. first assisting.

• In-house shift to include management of surgical floor patients. Specialties covered include, but are not limited to, Urology and Gyn-Oncology.
• Perform history and physicals for any consults or admissions from the emergency department or inpatient floors for the surgery department
• Confer with attending physician, nursing staff, and other advanced practice providers in plan of care to ensure optimal quality patient care
• There is no current O.R. first assisting need. This is a possibility for growth in the future

This position is for full-time days, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (4 day work week), with required holiday coverage, weekend and call obligation. Qualifications

• The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and be NCCPA certified or Nurse Practitioner program with licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner by the New York State Department of Education required
• New graduates will be considered
