Tax Manager (New York)

DescriptionKforce's client, a well-established single-family office based in New York City, NY, is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to oversee a complex, hands-on tax function. This role reports to the Head of Tax and works closely with other accounting and finance colleagues, playing a critical role in managing tax compliance across a diverse portfolio of entities and high-net-worth individuals.Responsibilities:* Oversee the full tax compliance lifecycle for partnerships, LLCs, trusts (including foreign structures), and high-net-worth individuals* Manage external CPA firms in the preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns* Coordinate K-1 tracking, estimated payments, extensions, withholding, and informational filings* Maintain the annual tax calendar and ensure all deadlines are met* Handle tax notices, audits, and correspondence with federal and state taxing authorities* Serve as the primary liaison with external advisors and tax service providers* Identify and implement process improvements, enhance documentation standards, and optimize tax tracking/reporting systems* Supervise and mentor 1-2 tax professionalsRequirements* 10+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally within private client services, family office, or HNW-focused environments; CPA and/or MST strongly preferred* Deep technical expertise in trust taxation, as well as partnership and individual tax* Proven experience managing external accounting/tax firm relationships across complex, multi-entity structures* Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities* Demonstrated judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive mattersJob TypeDirect HireCompensation204000 - $276000
